The Family Support Group program was established to give patients and their families a forum where information, education and feelings can be shared in a comfortable and caring environment.  All groups are professionally led by oncology specialists and are free of charge.

The Cancer Parent Support Group is for parents of pediatric oncology patients.  Meetings are scheduled for the third Monday evening of every month.  Join us any time for information and support.  This group is co-sponsored by Mary Bridge Children's Hospital (Tacoma, WA) and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Sessions are facilitated by a social worker and a child life specialist.

Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT) Caregiver Support Group meets weekly on the first, second and fourth Thursdays of the month at the Hutch School in Seattle. This support group is for caregivers only. Topics to be covered may include: Self-care, communicating with the patient, coping with a stressful situation away from home, and how to talk to family members about what is going on.

The Young Adult Family Support Group is beginning another session soon.  Meetings may involve a presentation by a specialist, and every meeting will include the opportunities to ask questions and discuss issues with each other.  Sessions are facilitated by a social worker.

Short-term, issue-focused support groups are offered periodically throughout the year.  These groups are conducted by telephone as well as on-site, in-person.

If you are interested in being part of a support group, please contact Stacy Martin, Patient Services Manager, at (888) 345-4572 ext. 123.
